Owen Abbott grew up in Canberra, ACT and now lives and works on the South Coast, NSW. In 2018, he established Owen David Architecture as a sole practitioner, preferring the close engagement with clients and ability to be involved in all aspects of a project, from design to construction.

Having spent much of his younger years traversing the NSW South Coast, he understands the character of the place well and continues to exemplify a beachside lifestyle through activities such as surfing, kayaking and sailing.

As well as an Architect, Owen is also a hands-on creative, capable tradesman and talented woodworker, making everything from picture frames to light switches, furniture to wooden boats. His experience as both a designer and maker allows him to provide a unique service that goes beyond the typical role of an architect. Working closely with both clients, builders and trades, Owen is often more directly involved with the physical creation of architecture. If you’re a good client, he might even frame your artworks or oil your deck, if that’s what it takes!
